Buy a castle on the French Riviera

A real estate agent on the French Riviera does not often get to sell a real castle.

From 1970 to the present day, a considerable number of luxurious mansions have disappeared without a trace on the French Riviera, and modern residences with underground parking and terraces have been built in their place.

The aristocratic past in such residences is often recalled by individual elements of architecture and landscape: majestic gates, columns, century-old parks, etc.

Fortunately,  CHÂTEAU SOLIGNY, located  in Cannes in the Californie area, escaped this fate. The new owners of the castle, who bought it in 2011,  completely reconstructed it  and created a pearl of modern design behind the historical walls of the Gothic castle.

Before the reconstruction of Château Soligny, the investors, together with a famous Cannes architect, carefully studied what true luxury is for Europeans, Russians, Arab princes, and in general, representatives of different countries and mentalities.

The architect tried to combine the tastes of wealthy people from all over the world, use the most expensive and fashionable finishing materials, and create 1000 m² of universal luxury and opulence.

Château Soligny  in Cannes

Château Soligny  consists  of 5 levels and 3 entrances. On the main second floor, there are 180m² of reception rooms: a grand hall, living rooms, a dining room, and a kitchen with a separate entrance for staff.

  • On the third floor, there are two master bedrooms with bathrooms, a terrace, and a walk-in closet. The area of each bedroom is 80m².
  • On the 4th floor, there are 3 children's bedrooms with bathrooms.
  • On the 1st floor: 4 guest bedrooms opening into the garden, as well as a living room with a kitchen.
  • On the lower floor, there is a wine cellar with a wine tasting room, a food storage room, a laundry room, and technical rooms.

The castle grounds of 9,000 square meters facing the sea include a 10-car garage,  a 3-story house for staff and guest apartments, a swimming pool with a summer kitchen, a separate building  for spa and fitness, and a landscaped park.

History of Château Soligny in Cannes

Unlike many other mansions on the French Riviera, Château Soligny was not built by a foreigner, but by the French Count Armand Paul Doria in 1868.

In 1880, the castle was bought by a wealthy Parisian, the owner of the Bon Marché commercial center in Paris, Aristide Boucicaut, who expanded the house. Aristide Boucicaut, who came from a simple family, became rich thanks to his talent, innovative ideas, and commercial acumen. He is considered the founder of modern commerce in France.

The castle has survived to this day in its original form and was transformed into an ultramodern mansion in 2014.

In 2019,   this luxurious estate was sold for about  50 million euros, but in our portfolio, there is always a unique estate on the French Riviera with history and charm.
