French Riviera Town - Sophia Antipolis (Sophia Antipolis)

Город Лазурного берега - Софья-Антиполис (Sophia Antipolis)

French Riviera Town - Sophia Antipolis (Sophia Antipolis)

Founded in the 1970s by Pierre Laffitte, a scientist and senator,  as a hub for innovative companies in the fields of computing, electronics, pharmacology,  and biotechnology, the Sophia Antipolis technology park is also called the French Silicon Valley.

Sophia Antipolis  covers  2,400 hectares of pristine nature across the towns of Valbonne, Mougins, Biot, Vallauris, and Antibes.

It is home to the headquarters of 2,500  companies also working in the fields of multimedia, communications,  energy, ecology, medicine, and biochemistry.

The technopole also houses higher education institutions, where 4,500 students and researchers study and work.

Pierre Laffitte envisioned the research center as a "Latin Quarter in nature" or a "Florence of the 21st century."

A research center with university campuses and company headquarters in a vast park area outside the city and residential developments is a unique project on the French Riviera, where people not only vacation but also work, invent, and finance innovative projects.
